Spectre launched on International Women’s Day in 2020. Since then we’ve brought our readers pathbreaking articles in our print issues and on our website. We’ve published pieces by major voices of the left today, like Robin D.G. Kelley, Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, and Kim Moody. And we have broadcast an exciting set of Spectre Live! events on key issues and debates of the day.
Unfortunately, subscriptions alone don’t cover the cost of production—even though none of our editors are paid.
Only the generosity of our donors Allows us to Keep The Spectre Project alive.
We have much in store for the coming years, bringing you quality content in print, on the web, and live! We are planning special issues on Social Reproduction and Class Struggle Today; Legacies of Racial Capitalism; and Ecological Marxism. But to do that, we have to pay our bills, and that’s where you come in. Without the broader Spectre community, we can’t do any of this. So please kick in what you can. Monthly donations are crucial to keeping Spectre alive!
And we have a perk for you. Every quarter we will organize a donors-only event to discuss and debate a critical question for the Left. Past donor events have discussed the global struggle for reproductive justice and featured a debate between Kim Moody and Doug Henwood on the American working class today. Make a donation—better yet become a monthly donor—and help us grow the Spectre that haunts the dreams of the ruling class.
Spectre launched on International Women’s Day last year, and since then we’ve mailed out 3 print issues, published over 150 web articles, and broadcast over a dozen Spectre Live! events.
But believe it or not, subscriptions alone don’t cover the cost of production – even though none of our editors are paid.
In order to keep Spectre independent, we rely on the generosity of our donors to keep the project alive.
We have much in store for the coming year, and we’re currently in the process of expanding our editorial board, bringing you quality content on a regular basis. But to do that, we have to pay our bills, and that’s where you come in. Without the broader Spectre community, we couldn’t do what we do. So please kick in what you can. Monthly donations are crucial to what we do!
Every quarter we will organize a donors-only event to discuss and debate a critical question for the Left. In addition, all donors will get the beautiful poster based upon Spectre’s editorial “We Cannot Let Yesterday’s Farce Become Tomorrow’s Tragedy,” designed by Liz Niarhos (@Lizar_tistry).
